A year ago I bought my disco, its a td5 2002 with 50,000 on the clock a year later it has now done 62000.
My first disco was a 1991 model,I had it new,it broke down taking it home from the dealer. We had so much trouble with it that we sold it at 10,000 miles. After years having a company vehicle I found myself semi retired and I have always loved the shape of the disco so I bought this 2002 model.
My question: are these vehicles any more reliable now as it seems the build quality is still bad, leaking fuel when the tank is topped up,leaking sunroof, fuel door will not lock,(oh and by the way I think the td5 engine is pretty gutless although I suppose it is hauling 2 tons? )what next to expect? It has had all the services it needs.I spent money having it proffesionally waxoyled as it showed a lot of sign of rust underneath.
I want to keep it but what sort of mileage could one expect to get out of a truck like this, if kept well serviced and treated well ? I have no intention of throwing money at it if its not going to be worth it.Tell me your experiance with the Disco 2.
