Ok so as the title really. I'm getting really ichy feet about going and exploring some of Europe in my discovery. However it isn't modified and I don't want to trash it. So I'm looking for some good remote places to take it where we can go wild camping etc without needing a second vehicle with a winch and snorkel to drag me out of swamps and hedge bottoms... Your thoughts?

SWMBO and I plus our Disco 1 are off to the Balkans in a couple of weeks. Tried to do this last year but a bad oil leak curtailed the trip in Slovenia. Sadly we didn't do many wild campsites, too often it isn't allowed, that said, there's always hope wherever woods and mountains can be found. Here's some encouragement for you.

Anywhere in eastern Europe. Cheap and beautiful. National parks, lakes, woodlands, beaches. I have never had any trouble wild camping in places where it is technically not allowed. Especially in eastern europe where people are typically more down to earth than their western counterparts. In fact, I have usually struggled more in places like Scandinavia to find decent places to pitch up, especially if you want the vehicle nearby.

Olsztyn, Poland - Vilnius, Lithuania - Daugavpils, Latvia. Some fantastic countryside through these destinations. Plenty of free official campsites too. Latvian coastline is one of the most fantastic coastlines I have been to. Thick darkgreen forests right up the sea in the summer.
