Tried posting this last night, no joy, try again.
Problem is fuel leak offside engine compartment. Fuel is leaking down, onto gearbox housing plastic "surround" which has an internal foam layer, this is soaking up the fuel and dripping when pressed. It appears to be coming from above the starter motor? Could it be the well documented fuel pressure mechanism? Anywhere or any other component this side? Any fuel lines chaffed etc............I know this has been well documented but any additional help would be appreciated..thanks

Hi tiswas. mine (04 landmark) did the self same thing. i thought it was oil at first but once me mechanic tasted it (strange thing to do if you ask me) it was obvious(to him) that it was deisel. Fuel pressure regulator fitted(3pipe on mine) and alls good. bit of an awkward job apparantly he had a fair few chunks of skin missing on his little pinkies:)

I have an 04 landmark that i think has a oil leak but it does smell a bit deisel like when you get under there, and nothign to comapre it too as only had it 3 weeks but fuel eco is not that good so maybe i'm leaking deisel.

Cheers Mick, sounds very like the FPR, like your mechanic, Im now a diesel addict! tasting drips in the drive, neighbours giving me funny looks, heres hoping mech will fix on Monday...ta again

Cheers David, found this already but chuffed that people like yourself find the time to put in such links.
Thanks again.
ps: made me look a wee bit better when trying to explain the problem!!!..............Rob

Hi have tried to fix mine thus weekend stripped it down and replaced the o rings twice but no luck so off to land rover tomorrow for a whole new one. Any one know if they come with any pipes?

Hello again lads,as promised, feedback on the Fuel Pressure Regulator.......
Just had Rover mechanic change the FPR and all now appears to be AOK. Pressure washed all the leak from underneath and all appears to be nice and dry.Took him about an hour. Bottom bolt is a bit of a wrestling match!.....he used one of these telescopic thingies with a magnet on the end to hold the bolt to get it into position......clever.....
BB81: Hi, It came with all hoses. Good luck..................Rob

Changed mine monday, its a pig of a job, the hardest bit is geting the top hose that runs along the inlet manifold back into the head had to remove egr and alternator bracket and was still tight.

Going to brim it today and run it for 100 miles and brim it agian and check mpg.

Didnt notice if mine was getting bad mpg, for me the soaking wet foam behind that gearbox "shroud" was the give-away.........seemingly it can gather there for quite a while before dripping onto ground if the leak is small. Just checked underneath mine again and all dry.Heres hoping!Best of luck anyway.
