My Discovery 2 has just sprung a new surprise...Whilst driving the light on the dashboard that makes it look like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (arrows either side) appeared and it sounded a beeping alarm. I put the fault into Google and came up with the airbags fault. One slight issue there I don't have airbags, they were replaced with springs. Now the light either doesn't come on at all or appears on the dashboard as an amber warning or comes on almost as I pull off the drive

if the warning is a car with curved arrows showing down one each side it's not the suspension, it's ACE(active cornering enhancement) if you have it fitted check the fluid in the reservoir asap to make sure it's not a leak which would ruin the pump, the ACE fluid shares the same tank with two 'chambers' with the PAS... magnify attachment and tell exactly which warning, is it 24?

If the bags got replaced with springs the the light needs turning off. But like sierrafery has said its probs low on fluid
My pump has been run dry by prevous owner and are expensive too buy so i will have it removed and have anti roll bars instead

Thank you for your help will pass this on to the guy who does all the servicing. I have read on some forums that if the bags have been removed and springs put on a seven seater then it invalidates the insurance, is this true??

The seven seater was not type approved for the UK, but it 'was' manufactured and the parts are available, so as long as 7-seater springs were fitted, there's no reason for the insurers to get up tight about it. Mine was a 5-seater but had seven seats in when I bought it. Told the insurers, no problem, but tell yours that it has been converted to springs, just for the record.

RKB000340 left hand rear spring 7-seater
RKB000350 right hand rear spring 7-seater

Mine runs on 106T tyres not 109T, told the insurers, they were happy, but I did get that in writing.

Always tell your insurers about any changes, just to be safe.

Peter
