Been running a 300 tdi auto for just under a year now and love it. Contrary to Mr Tomcat I've not had a problem with hills, granted I drive at 60mph but I'm rarely in a hurry & I don't expect any more of it. If I wanted to to go faster I'd buy a newer, more expensive v6 or v8.
