Hi,
Im in need of an air compressor for the rear suspension for a 01 Land Rover Discovery td5, as when my wife awoke this morning, the back of the car was sitting really low.

Anyone know of any places that sell these units?

Cheers

Danny

Hi are you sure its the compressor as if its gone down overnight sounds like a leak, and if you have a faulty height sensor it wont lift either is the fuse and the relay ok i would check these first as compressors are expensive, tiga

Hi fuse has gone, but when checking the compressor unit, wires had burnt out and some of the plumbing had been melted to the unit, therefore making a leak.

Oh i see definately compressor burn out check there is no water in the air intake system as this can cause this as well hope all goes well, tiga

Posted in another thread, but I found the spring on a brush in the compressor motor corroded. Motor brush was not touching armature. Just repaired spring and refitted - worked ok. Need to track back to check where water was entering. My Disco 2 should be behind n/s rear light unit.
If back starts sinking again, think I will bite bullet and get new compressor..

Hi there am having problems with my air suspension my compressor dosnt seam to be working was fine one day dead the next thou car not dropping much have replaced the bags recently and sensors but wat I do notice is that under the bonnet a 30 amp fuse think its the 5 th one up keeps blown wood that be the compressor one and how do you check the relays are they the yellow or black boxes in fuse box under Bonnet

it's R5 in the engine bay fusebox... u can swap it with R3(headlamp wash) for test but i doubt that a faulty relay will blow the fuse(unless it has an internal short, which is uncommon).... the way to test is how i told u in the other thread;) ...unplug nr.1 and undo nr 13...give direct feed with wires from the battery into the plug to test the compressor.... dont touch the live wire direct to the battery, put one "leg" of a 30A fuse on + of the battery and take the live with the wire which goes to the compressor's plug from the other leg of the fuse to protect the battery in case of a short circuit.
