Presumably a discovery 2? The chassis rot horrifically along with several other places. If there is corrosion underneath and by the sound of it a number of repairs on the chassis I would be concerned. It’s possible the repairs are to a good standard and the lack of under seal will mean you get a more honest view of it but it could easily be quick patches over holes to get it through MOT’s. If that is the case and it’s not been done well the vehicle will have a very limited lifespan or will need a new chassis.

You really need to have a good look underneath and have a prod about with something if they’ll let you. Unless you’re confident the repairs are spot on it may be close to the big scrap yard in the sky without a big investment. Not to mention unsafe.

Personally, I'd give it a miss to much work there for me

What price is it?

195k on the clock according to MOT history? Who did the MOT?

It seems like a lot of money for such a high mileage and poor MOT history to me. D2’s aren’t especially rare.

Doesn’t appear to have an MOT at the moment. Failed on corrosion in 2016 so has had plenty of time to get worse.

It may have been repaired really well but you need to really check thoroughly.

Do a Google image search on discovery 2 chassis rot and you should see plenty of examples. They are in my experience a fairly high maintenance car but I did really enjoy mine.

Definately get under it and have a look at the rear chassis rails, from the rear end to past the (air)spring mount

MOT’s usually go straight on the system now don’t they? My last couple have.

You sound like your mind is made up so wish you the best of luck with it. Hopefully it’s been repaired properly, if it has then you should be fine for a while.

Perhaps the dealer could send out a photo of the underside from the rear which you could post here for us to look at.

If not make sure you give it a really good inspection, lifting the rear suspension will give you a better view from memory, assuming it’s still on air at the back.

If this is the one from T&T motors, why does it say 7 seater, as the pics only show 5?
Did they do all the advisories? Any? None?
Still showing as no MOT.

With that MOT fail you should be in a strong position to say you no longer want the car.

Those aren’t seats, they are storage cubbys. It may have had 7 seats but someone swapped them for the cubbys. If the air suspension has been removed then it wouldn’t be type approved as a 7 seater from memory.
