Well I've had the Discovery 4 for 6 months now and am really liking it. However the last week it has had this weird shudder from the steering wheel when travelling on the motorway, which gets worse when braking. I thought it was going to be something steering or wheel bearing related as the suspension was renewed and front pads & discs, just before I got it. So I took it to my local garage who I've used for years as I'm getting too old and knackered to look myself, they are very good and have always been fair. They initially examined everything at the front couldn't find any issues steering or suspension wise, wheel bearings were fine. So they took it for a test drive to try to replicate the fault, which only raised its head at speed - over 50mph. He then braked which made things even worse and the vibration was felt right through the steering wheel. Got it back on the ramps and checked the discs & pads and the nearside one is visibly very badly warped?!?!? Pretty crap really seeing as they are less than a year old, well just over 6 months old to be precise and about 5500 miles! They were 'Land Rover' genuine parts too. He was pretty flabbergasted as they look brand new but definitely U/S!!!
I know the D4 is quite a monster on steering joints / suspension & brakes, but surely LR own should last longer than that???
