hi i have just bought another 300tdi and so let the problems begin lol i have only 1 window working the drivers 1 the fuse was popped when i bought her so didnt have any windows working i have just been out and fitted a replacement ECU but i still only have 1 window working ive also tried the 1 switch i know that works on the other windows but nothing please help what can i do and where to go next

off ebay but spoke to man and its got gurantee and seems a bit strange that still 3 windows not workin think i need to get someone to test if ive got power to ecu and power to windows if it turns out there is no power is there a way round it as i need to be able to open my windows

Sam I had the same problem and someone gave me a link to a site
which showed a common fault with the ecu where as a contact dries
out I re-soldered it and hey presto they now work. Probably take a guarentee
from anything of ebay with a pinch of salt.
 
ok ty im finding more and more problems only had her 2 days lol ABS warning bulb removed..... only 1 window......... and no boot floor its like a bloody flintstone car in the back knew i should of took dad with me when i got it :mad: the bloke sure see me coming

pleaseeee help me someone 3 windows on 1995 discovery 300 tdi workin front passenger side wont bloody work goes down wont come up changed motor / regulator etc and swaped switches about still wont work can i rewire it somehow its doing my head in my arms a cut to bits playing with the bloody thing please help me someone anyone x:mad:
 
ecu changed rear windows working its just the front passenger side that wont work swapped all switches around it will go down but not up changed regulator/motor tonight still the same ita l;ike its not getting power to go up can it be rewired some how can i pick up a live from somewhere ??? ty
 
changed ecu back windows working only front passenger side goes down not up changed regulator/motor tonight still the same swapped switches no change its like its only gettin power one direction can it be rewired can i pick up a live from somewhere using a electric tester attached to battery it will go up and down but wont work off switches :)

i have same problem on osf window . done the same as you but no go .. if i put power straight to motor it works both ways , but it only goes up on a switch and not down... i gave up with it .....
 
lol yep mine the same im going to keep trying 2 kids and 2 dogs in there in the summer not good i will let u know the outcome and if i / a friend gets it going wot we / he did
 
When mine was doing that it was the switch that was dodgy, they are easy enough to pull apart and clean up. But if youve swapped it for a working switch and its still not working it could be the ECU you can pull them apart and resolder the joints if they are dry.
 
can you fit a temporary set of wires from one of the working doors to the duff one.... if it then works you know the motors good... or not if it dont. if the motors good presumably there must be 4 outputs off the ecu... can you swop them over?...connect the front door to the outputs for the rear , that would tell you if its faulty wiring tween the ecu and the door.
 
Could you d/load the "rave" cd, links on this site, and follow electrickery fault finding? basic stuff but it works for main stealers. XXX ( don't tell the wife ):)
