discovery 300tdi auto engine problem

hi all when driving with foot on the gas or foot fully off the gas its ok the problem is when you slightly ease off the power it starts hicking and farting until you either put the power back on or fully off,
its my first disco only had it 2 months so any info would be great.

I think you need to let us all know if its the one with Air Flow meter or not.
If so its electronic Fuel and flyby wire throttle...
Year may do..

hi its a 96 on a P reg and yes it has the air flow meter
