hi all quick question im putting a new transfer box in my discovery 300 tdi (manual) the weekend can some one tell me what oil i need to use ive spoke to a land rover repair center and they are saying 75w 90 semi synthetic just thought i would check this is right before i get the oil cheers lee

would ep80/90 gl5 do or has it gotta be just 90
That would be OK but if it's a new or reconditioned transfer box maybe splash out on some some synthetic stuff. I hear good things about it, mine is a rough old off Roader so I put whatever is available locally and cheaply in mine and change it quote often.

dont bother with semi synthetic either go full or not bother . From considerable experience with extreme gearbox conditions in Australia , I would recommend Redline full synthetic shockpruf there are two levels , I have no connection in any way with Redline other than as satisfied customer . JMHO
