I have been experiencing the ABS warning light coming on under light breaking for the last couple of months. It generally then resets itself when ignition is turned on then off. It looks like discs and pads all round were changed just before I purchased the Disco and this was done by a non franchise landrover specialist so hopefully they knew what they were doing. Having researched the web the ABS light sequence does notcsome on then go out briefly then go out after 4mph reached as I believe should happen so it looks like there was a fault lurking somewhere. Then today I got the three amigos! Hooray. I have started looking back through the posts and know the long list of possible causes. My question is can I clear the codes by either jumper wire as 95/96 disco, or disconnecting the battery, or am I now forced to the dealer or to invest in a Nanacom? Looks like the latter but would like confirmation fropm someone who has been through this one with Disco 2.

Regards

The warning lamps should go out after a few seconds when the SLABS ecu has finished its boot up checks,it does not need to see 7kmh as the D1/RRC/RR LP and FL1 do.The faults need to be read/cleared with Testbook or Nanocom etc.
DII Slabs faults log for a reason - what you chose to do with the codes is up to you, they rarely go away after clearing.

There are a number of faults that can bring the warnings up, including a wiring error on the towbar electrics, and thus also possibly water in the electrics as well.

The usual faults are either the sensors, usually only one at a time, or the wheel/hub bearing.

If you haven't got any noisy wheel bearings, then another possibility is a broken sensor wire, usually on the front ones where they flex with the steering.

We had the warnings up on a long trip last week, but they have not come up since, so it may need everything getting really warmed up first.
