I have an issue with a lack of ouput of air from my heating/Aircon, I have run the fan with an alternate power source and replaced the resistor/transistor pack, does anyone have any other ideas or ways of isolating the problem? The heating warms up its just all the heat stays in the dash with no air supply to push it around the cab

OK,

So when you push the air distribution button and the screen image changes from the windscreen demist image to the arrows pointed at the driver the actual air flow does not change? Or does it stop on the top of the dash / windscreen , but not come out of the face / footwell?

Cheers

there is no airflow at all, but after driving for a while you can feel that there is a bit of heat, the control panel image changes, and I can get the fan to run by putting power into the terminals, the fan worked intermittently for a bit then stopped completely

I mean that before it died the fan worked intermittently, not when I powered it up then it worked fine.

OK,

Then download a copy of the rave manual, it includes wiring diagram and disassembly procedures.

Download onto a computer Rave01.iso file

Sounds to me like if your heater is working then you are going to have to bell everything thru, have you checked the fuses / relay?

Cheers

I also have had this problem twice with the fan not working then the problem goes away after driving over rough road surfaces ie potholes speed bumps etc.
I discounted the air con unit after reading up in rave.
Having had random electrical faults over the last 6 months that clear themselves after a switch off and couple of minutes rest before starting again ( hazard warning lights coming on, then m&s lights flashing and limp home mode

Shortly after, m& s lights and limp home on their own.
I also had a problem some time ago with the m&s lights and limp home mode which I finally traced to the bcu which was not supplying power to the xyz switch which I cured by bypassing the bcu altogether and taking a feed from elsewhere.
This led me to think that the problem is in the bcu or idm / fuse box inside the car just breaking down during to age as the is no sign of water ingress or damage to either.
My disco is a 2002 td5 auto gs 78000 miles.
