Hi there, I am new to this site & wonder if anyone out there can offer advice as to what might be wrong with my disco. Having driven about 100 miles on Tues I noticed that the power had dropped. After stopping for lunch when I restarted the car had NO power at all - I managed to limp home - managing 20mph uphill with foot to the floor! Now it won't start at all, engine turns over but will not fire. Has anyone experienced similar problems & can point me in the direction of what problem I am looking at? I live in South West France & finding a garage to repair the car is also posing problems. Does anyone know of somewhere near to Cognac in the Charente (department 16) who might be able to help. Thanks in anticipation.

well i have changed injector harness, wireing harness, all filters, new fuel pump, injector washers and seals.
and after a short day out yesterday mine lost power i pulled over turned her off then started her back up and she was fine for a while then did the same again.
it now p---ing me off big time

hi i have a problem with disco 2 td5 it hesitates on acceleration only till it kicks in sometimes there is just nothing there but its fine when cold done all usual cleaned and checked maf sensor cleaned ecu of oil and replaced injector rail im now stuck help !!!!!!!

I had a similar issue with mine but not to your extent, check that the air regulator isn't blocked as that causes mine to be sluggish

Had the sane problems for over a week.
Changed fuel pump, replaced injector harness, serviced all filters and checked waste gate arm, movement fine.

My rock was ready to drive off a bridge.

I've been using www.discovery2.co.uk.

Clear description how to do many things (which I used to change fuel pump as I'm only a computer technician lol).

Found his page on solenoid (some people call waste gate modulator and many other names)

See WWW.discovery2.co.uk/waste gate.HTML

I was apprehensive that a solenoid could give me the kangaroo petrol syndrome as I call it.
Boy was I wrong!

Another 10 minute job and omg I have full power and speed. Can't believe something so small could cause problems so big and to think I nearly bought a new MAF sensor!

So anyway problem solved with no thanks may I say to nano com locator who I got no reply from any of them I emailed (Edinburgh guy).

I did get help from discovery2.co.uk and obviously lots of help from everyone here on landyzone.

So a big thank you to all of you on here, (its like a big family Lol)

Thanks all

Regards

Mikey

I had a similar problem After doing all you have done I replaced the fuel filter housing which has a built in rubber valve ( valve not purchasable on its own) cost was high £200 for what it is but it solved the problem of loosing power.

You can get the valves, ONLY £28.50 on the bay of E :p. Or a lot cheaper from OZ.

Filter housing, check because some come with the valve , some do not, I got the complete unit for £110.

Cheers
