Discovery 2 on W plate Wiper motor

Help, I am very new to Land Rover, I have a problem with my wipers. When it is wet, damp or freezing, they stop working, including the washers. I have been told it is the front wiper motor,I am not convinced.

Does any body have any suggestions, and do I have to take the dash to access the front wiper motor. Thank you in anticipation.

on a disco 1 u remove front windscreen plastic slam panel to access the motor.cant imagine the motor on a d2 would be inside but cant say for sure
