I'd hate to have to go through the IVA registration process on it though!that's not a bad idea col!!!!!!
Not so much expensive as a complete pain in the arris. Ask anyone who still builds Kit Cars. When I was doing it, all you had to do was build your car then MOT it. Provided it passed that you then got it inspected by the police. They were basically checking to make sure the bits all went together and it was as described (I think, this is so long ago now my memory may be a bit faulty). They would then stamp a new VIN number on the chassis. With this you then filled in the forms for registration and if you had enough of the right bits from the original vehicle you kept your reg number, the idea being to benefit from no Road tax if it was from before 1973. If not it would get the dreaded Q reg. So this I did, really quickly on the last car I built which I then ripped apart to do again properly with all the fancy mods etc. Still haven't finished it! But then came SVA which was a bit of a pain but not too bad, then IVA which is still worse but still doable. You can look both of these up on the net Gov.uk etc, to find out what has to be done to comply, if you really wish. Just a glorified MOT but there are all sorts of things that for some reason self-built vehicles have to comply with but for some reason get missed out on type-approved vehicles, size of holes on spokes of steering wheels for instance. For a stretch limo built from two originally type approved vehicles I don't think you'd have too much bother in fact I have a very vague memory of them being mentioned on Gov.uk. But the important part is that the front end would have one VIN number and the back end another, which is not allowed!that sounds expensive
hello everyone! I am looking for some peculiar ideas on what todo to my disco next! I have found a picture online of someone converting the rear boot space into a toolbox/storage facility (see picture for detail an information). I would like todo this but also looking for more, bizarre ideas todo on this project! as stated in past posts and my profile I have two disco 2s and was thinking of making a trailer out of my silver one (see picture to detail an information) I am ideally looking to keep the disco looking as standard as possible look wise however its heavily modified as a off road vehicle ie, lift kit, snorkel, rock sliders, winch, winch bumper and so on...….
also looking for ideas todo within the cab of the vehicle ie, lighting, trim, subtle mods etc! sorry about boring use but this project that's come over night in order for me to break a complete working fine disco is on my todo! hopefully you guys share the same passion as me and have some great ideas, suggestions I will hopefully use and keep use all updated!!
You must look at your diagnostic more often than you look at your TV!both solid well maintained 2 owner vehicles from new
