Discovery 2 drivers door not opening !!

Hi all,

I have recently replaced the ignition barrel and drivers door handle after the old barrel died. I changed the door handle to have a matching set of keys (all new items). After that I tried to open the drivers door to find I could only open it from the inside lever... I whipped the door card off and re-adjusted the plastic clip that fits onto the rod that goes to the handle, and all was well for a day or two. Now it won't work again... If I unlock the car with the key fob, then try and open the door with the handle 9 times out of 10 it won't work, however sometimes if I lock and then unlock it again (via key fob) it works... Most of the time though I now have to go in through the passenger door lean across and open it via the internal lever. Yesterday it wouldn't open at all, with either internal or external handles ! - Is this likely to be something that I've messed up or is it likely to be something else ?

Door lock units are a VERY common replacement on the D2.

Could easily be coincidence.

Thanks for the reply... I have been reading all the previous threads regarding the locks being an issue... It just seemed too much of a coincidence for it to fail at this time. Such a shame that all 4 doors have locks that are unique and I can't just swap the back and front over to see if it sorts the problem !! Oh well. Better get my wallet out again then !!
