Hello Everyone, first time poster...

I recently bought a Discovery 2, 2000 year. it cost me £750 so you can imagine my disgust when I ended up with the 3 Amigos ABS issue, after reading forums and trying with all my current fault code readers to no avail
I was disgusted to find out that I had to go to a dealer or splash out around 400 on an expensive code reader to put out the light.

this pushed me to use an old vagcom cable and a laptop to resolve the issue.

I am now pleased to say that I have wrote a program to reset the 3 Amigos, and clear the DTC's and am contemplating releasing all my findings (Open Source) into the public domain I am however concerned over any backlash there may be.

Thoughts ?

Is there an echo in here?? :D
Hang on I'm getting something.. am I right in saying you wished you'd paid 750 quid for yours....? and that you get your faults read for nothing but have to pay for any problems to be fixed..? am I right..? Ah it's fading now.. no it's gone.. :)

Does your programme just reset the light or did you actually fix the fault or are you running a vehicle that is faulty and the problem masked, if so you would have been as well sticking a bit of gum of the light bulb.

Yes I paid more than £750 - a lot more
I get faults read for nothing
If there's a problem, I can't fix it myself.

Kapish? :D

does his post say he has a program to put the light out but not fix the fault? if so then we would all be disgusted if that's the case!

At the moment the program resets the fault codes - the problem is not masked as if the problem reoccurs the 3 amigos are sure to return.

I am fully aware of the cause of the fault an ABS Sensor. I did not need a code reader to diagnose this.

so just fix the fault then have the codes cleared for approx 10-20 quid by local garage or mobile guy

actually if a sensor fault was fixed the 3 amigos must go out by default... you need a tester only to clear the faults from the ECU memory to not be missleaded next time, read the attachment
