Hi guys,

Got a fault that I can't quite put my finger on atm. I have had the 3 amegos on for quite a while (its a disco 2!!) It started off as a intermittent fault and I was able to reset it with my nanocom but it then became a permanent feature and won't let me clear it!! As the MOT was due I put it in anyway whic of course they failed it on as the ABS light was on, along with a couple of other minor things. I took it up to my local landrover specialist and got him to plug it in on his computer in case it was my nanocom had a problem. His computer couldn't clear it but when he looked into each operation of they system everything seems to be operating as it should. I have just replaced the shuttle valve with a wabsco one. We couldn't work out what was going on so we moved onto calibrating the suspention that I needed done and whist doing that it cleared the fault and now it comes on intermittently.

The fault is showing as 11-05 shuttle valve switch fail 011 times - even even reset it said 011 times.

Just wondering if anyone has any clues to what it might be? Could it be the SLABS itself thats had it?

Cheers

99 times out of 100, the shuttle valve switch electrical fault will be with the two pin connector inside the ABS modulator.
If you do a search for SVS modification either on the forum here or on Google, you should come up with a whole load of information on how to sort the problem.
There's a whole bunch of good stuff about the problem in this thread:-

It's not normally necessary to replace the switch plate unless it is actually faulty, but since it has to come out to test and modify it, you might as well put a new plate in and be done with it. New price on a plate is about 35 to 40 quid.
Because the modification is unofficial, the garage would probably be reluctant to do it for you, mainly for insurance reasons, and they're more likely to want to fit a new ABS modulator.
