NEVER wade a Ford in flood conditions! A cubic metre of water weighs a tonne and that is without the weight of the water pushing downstream behind it. Also you dont know what muck and rubbish has been uprooted and brought down with it!
Fuel tank and tyres are bouyancy aids while engine isnt, ergo you WILL go nose down/arse up if door seals work correctly or have monoque body.
People have died making this mistake and a well known LZ member has recently documented how lucky he was in his Disco.....

Hope I'm not coming across as preaching from a soapbox but I'd hate to be reading a tragedy on here over New Year. :(

As has already been said

NEVER GO GREEN LANING ALONE
I don't know about never, I frequently go on my own as much of my work involves driving down them to get to the places I am working. Personally I would say never go alone unless you have the experience and equipment to self recover, and have a means of alerting someone if it goes really tits up.

Did not go alone, my Dad came with with his 90, so it was all good.

The ford was way to big to go through and the local farmer had banked up the side of the ford with gravel to prevent flooding, so it was a no go on two accounts!

thanks for the replies.................
