discovery 1 auto dipstick works out on its own

hi,
had a look through forum but must be me as cannot find anthing !
had a couple of 300 tdi autos now the first one had a jubilee clip around the auto dipstick never thought nothing of it just that the plastic tits were getting old,
the one i have got now the dipstick works its way out but the clips are pretty tight the oil and filter was changed last year.
does not spray oil about or anthing just a bit curious !

have you checked breather pipes not blocked

Just had a full service done on my auto box, not had the second oil change done yet. But it drives much better, has more power transmitted up hills, smoother gear changes and has stopped the dipstick popping out of the tube!

no i have not checked breather, is the end of it one of the pipes that are behind the head or does it vent somewhere else

mine changed up quicker and smoother when i done it last year or year before cant remember but remember i was not impressed on having to take t box mount off and forgetting the f****** magnet i put on degreaser so i did not loose it when i was cleaning the sump!!
