Hi guys, I'm getting desperate now. Discovery 2 td5. Started about a month ago switched it off as normal come to next day and it's dead on the key hazards flashing and m and s light flashing. Researched everything I could about it. I'm pretty sure it's the immobiliser playing up. I've put new battery on the car and in the key. I've had the xyz switch off cleaned and refitted. It sees neutral and park. Can get it started no problem with the eka code. So replaced the recever in the roof and it's still no different. I cant connect a diagnostic tool becuse it just says that its not connected. I'm guessing it locks the obd out if its immobilized. I've also checked out the fuse board and engine ecu both dry and clean no rust or oil ect. Not sure where to go from here. Any help is much appreciated. Maybe a nanocom would connect?

It's a long shot have u tried pressing the inersha switch I think I spelt that wrong but it's worth a go i had a problem not long ago hazards flashing with the key in and out pressed that and it fired straight up.

Hi. Did you try to connect the tester while it was remobilised with the EKA code? if yes and still no comms the first suspect is the BCU... what diagniostic tool was used?

I was using an old snap on with the keys you put in the wire. But it kept saying insert the correct key when it was. I think I need to have a look at the bcu like you say. Is this easy enough to get out and check?

That snap-on tool is not up to the, for the BCU you have to remove the gove box but without connecting a proper tester you can't do much unless you see signs of water ingress in it then you have to replace it in which case complex programming is needed with dedicated LR tester not generic OBD2 tool
