I have some old Disco alloys I want to put on a 1993 90 200Tdi. They are a tight fit over the hubs where they touch at the end of the spokes, but they go on by tightening the wheelnuts :)doh: I know).

I did a :search: and it looks like putting them on like this will end up weakening the wheels. Can I get away with grinding away a little from the end of the spokes? If so how much?

Or am I going to end up::rolly:

it's your life mate, grind as much as you like off ....... just hope you can sleep well if a wheel fractures and you wipe someone out

What Sean said ...

It's not worth it to save but a few quid, IMHO.

amazes me after what happened last year that people even ask these questions..

would you load a single bullet into a revolver and spin the chambers then point the gun at your/your kids/your mates heads and pull the trigger?

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not looking to spend at the moment.

I bought these alloys for £50 with the intention of tarting them up and swapping for the original steel rims (which have a certain charm). They have about three useable tyres between them and one has been wire brushed a little. It would be fair to describe them as skanky....

If anyone wants to take them for the £50.......
