Hi all

Just bought a V plate Discovery 2 v8 as a second car. We already have a tdv8 Sport HSE, but wanted a second car with 7 seats for kids, grand kids, dog etc

It's a deep blue colour ES model with cream interior and 106k miles. Picking it up on Tuesday and I'm really looking forward to it. They still have to fix leaky sunroof and MOT it. It's got full service history and is very standard (which I wanted). Saw a TD5 too, but it was green and a bit scruffy. I've owned a vogue 4.4 V8 so I'm no stranger to the petrol station.

I'm going to hand it over to my local mechanic (a proper "fixer" not just a parts replacer) to give it a good look over.

I must confess, I was a bit surprised by the oomph from the v8, although maybe I'm just spoilt with the Sport.

I'm sure I'll have lots to ask you all soon enough!

It seems I have the dreaded leaky roof issue!

It's going into Simmonites on Tuesday to have it sorted (hopefully). My local guys won't touch the problem as they say they've tried in the last and had no joy.

Quite happy with the car, everything works 100% so I can't complain. Hope the V8 is reliable - I'm having nagging feelings I should have gone for a diesel but I just couldn't find a nice one. It's not doing many miles, or towing anything. I've heard of them covering big miles and mines only got 106k miles. Don't care about the mpg as my Saab convertible only did 15mpg anyway!

She's a handsome beast!
