I'm in a bit of a quandry.

I've got an FL2, which I love, but its boot is slightly too small for us (have recently acquired a labrador). Also, the additional 2 seats in the boot is an attraction when considering my wife's non-driving parents.

I've seen a 59-plate HSE D4 with 44k on the clock for £29k, which looks like a good deal (and the LR garage's finance offer is very attractive, beating the best quote I got from a high street bank).

My heart says "Yes!" My head syas "Wait a minute...."

What do others think? My off-roading would be very minimal

Lovely D4's are.....but that's a lot of money!!
You thought about alternative options like a roof box for your FL2? It also doesn't give you 7 seats no, but how often would they really be used.
I wouldn't ever get a car on finance, if I didn't have the money to buy it outright I simply wouldn't buy it, but that's just my opinion! :D

+2.

D4's are brilliant vehicles but so is a DIII TDv6 2.7. 190BHP plus a remap takes it to 250bhp and they can be bought for less than £10,000.

£29,000 is an awful lot of money to spend on any car, especially when you don't have the cash.

Thanks for your thoughts.

The roofbox option might be the best one for us. I like the gadgets etc in the Disco, but the main issue is space, which the roofbox would help with.

You are spot on about the 7 seats - better for my wife to follow in her Evoque and pay a bit more in fuel than splash out 10s of thousands to get 2 infrequently-used seats.

Congratulate me - I am edging towards letting my head rule my heart. You will be able to tell your grandchildren where you were on the day that happened....:D
