just to let anyone who is interested know i have just completed two mods on my disco firstly removal of the egr valve cost 16 pound and a change of down pipe to de cat bit fiddley as to put the replacement down pipe on the gearbox xmember has to be removed but well worth the trouble massive differance in power my next job is the removal of the viscous fan and replace with an electrick one i will keep you all posted:)

Didn't need to remove the x-member to fit mine .. just a bit of force .. ;)

Another good, cheap, mod is to replace the centre silencer for a straight through unit .. makes a big difference. (Got mine for a tenner at a show)

Mine's now getting 400 - 470+ to the tank where previously it was getting 300-370ish.

sounds good wish id have been abit more forcefull with the down pipe took an hr just to remove the x member oh well its done now

been looking around for a decat for my disco 300 is it best to get one with flexy pipe in line to allow engine movement etc or was that aloud of ball to get me to spend more? what version do you boys have? cheers

got to ask why you want to fit a leccy fan instead of the viscous - why not just take the viscous one off and leave it off - did mine nearly 2 yrs ago and had no problems even when hauling the big trailor about.

it just dont seem rite but saying that a friend of mine just drove to scotland without one with no probs so may be no replacement needed

Mine doesn't have the flexy bit, cost £19 ish ... Bit better than the 'official' £65 I've seen and haven't had any issues with it yet. OK, it's a little, and I do mean only a little you can still have Classic FM playing, noisier inside, but then I've also removed the underlay from the carpets and other stuff so it's louder anyway ... ;)

<cough> A Defender 90 pipe fits </cough>

interesting I am getting 460 + and haven't modded the cat or EGR yet :)

I carry a lot of kit, tow a caravan nearly every weekend and mostly have two or three adults with me. I also have a heavy right foot .. ;)

I'm also counting from when the gauge is just below 1/4 full ... I never let it get any less unless I'm totally skint!
