I live in darkest africa, Uganda, and have not had much luck getting technical advice here.
I have a 1997 TDI 300 Disco, I drive about 90% on tarmac but regularly have to travel good distances on african dirt roads whith numerous potholes.
The problem is when I hit a good sized hole all 4 indicators start to flash and sometimes the engine dies. Normally I can correct by turning the ignition off and on again but sometimes this can take a few attempts to correct the problem. It fitted with a Lucas 5RXA reciever, YWC 105830.
I have cleaned and checked all connectors and ground connex but no improvement yet. I am worried that the engine is going to immobilise when I am way out of town in the bush. I cant disconect or the engine wont start.
Please can anyone give any practical advice?
