Disco Stuck in St Brieuc - Turbo Problem ???

Hi All.

Need some urgent help or advice with my TD5 ...

Was driving along merrily from St Malo and as I approached a circle lost all power. So pulled over into a car park and there was black smoke. So switched the engine off and on again, started normally, still nothing when putting foot flat on accelerator tho. Then noticed that after about 20sec after starting black smoke was pouring out the exhaust again ...

So does anybody have any ideas as to what the general problem may be ?? Car has only done 60k miles and full service ...

Then also, I know there is a LR dealer in St Brieuc but there was some horror stories posted about them, so really up the creek without a paddle !!

If anybody can refer me to any decent LR mechanics around the St Brieuc area please please let me know

have you checked the hose to and from the intercooler?

could be one's split or collapsing inside !

pm some of the guys in this fred - they mite be able to help.

check the airfilter isnt blocked, oh don't the td5 have a fuel filter problem??

Had this with an FM9 last week. Take the intake pipe off fron the turbo and have a look inside, you'll probably find the centre shaft for the turbo's in 2 halves or the impellor has shattered.

If not, might be the boost sensor up the creek.

Found a garage that is highly recommended on AngloInfo forum in Gouarec. Unfortunately I am not the best when it comes to the mechanics and in a holiday place so absolutely no tools.

If anyone can suggest any other mechanics I am all ears .. and will continue reading thro the site researching this *mishap* !!
