Hi,
Just about to change the discs and pads on my 2002 disco, will I need any special tools or is it just a straight forward job.
I notice in the service manual that landrover make a tool to push the pistons back, is it required or will the pistons push back easily.

Any other info would appreciated.

Regards

really simple job, i took longer getting wheels off than actually changing discs and pads, i used a screwdriver carefully pushing the piston back.

Hi Jason,
I think you must be on the wrong tack here, There is no hub nut to take off on the series 2 disco, just a countersunk screw to undo and the disc just falls off, with maybe a little help.

Unless of course I've misunderstood your meaning!

Just need a 12mm spanner for the caliper, then remove the carrier and replace the disc.

On OE Front pads there is a line down the centre, when this has disappeared you need to replace the pads (3mm)

I'm trying to find the minimum disk thickness (ie servicable limit) as I want to check that my dads discs dont need doing too. We are on second set of pads at 52,000.

TD5 front discs service limit 22mm, rear 11.7mm
