I'm new to the Land Rover scene and have not long bought a '99 TD5 Disco which seems great apart from a few little annoying things. Firstly while driving it, it feels like a dumper truck due to the play in the stereing wheel - is a lot of play normal or is it a sign the steering box could be done with replacing?
Second problem is to do with the radio, whenever someone speaks on a radio station (a local one that i never intentionally listen to) my radio seems to change station all by itself! I have checked the traffic & news and switched them both off but it still keeps switching back to this station whenever someone speaks on it. There doesnt seem to be anything in the manual about this so i was hoping someone may be able to educate me before i loose the plot!
