according to haynes it's a filler cap for refilling the system, they say that you refill the system through that plug untill coolent flows out without any air bubbles then cap it off and top up using the expansion tank

Can you get replacements?

Nice cheap replacement, go to your local breakers and assuming they've got one in decent nick pull it out, you only need to drop the window an inch or two and either side will fit! cost = £0 as long as you wear your best scrappy coat (you know, the one with REALLY BIG POCKETS!:D)

theres my plan for the day then :D
can you show some more pics of how you ran the wiring for the light bar ? was thinking of doing the same on mine
i just drillev an 8mm hole behind every light and 1 at the end and pulled all the wires through, as far as connecting them up i'm still looking at ideas as i want to have them wired into relays in the fuse box

Well extreamly ****ed off now.
i rang mother who lives where my land rover is parked and she informed me thet our next door neighbour says my tyres were flat on my disco, so i've been out and had a look and all 5 tyres have been stabbed, they were practiaclly brand new tyres thats around £500 ish worth of damage because they are just over £100 a tyre i think. thankfully i have spares but i'll have to get them on tomorrow night
To **** me off even more they kicked my garage door in thankfully didnt take my bike or my tools but still ****es me off. i've rung the police and they are going to send a forenzics unit out to investigate and take finger prints. ARGH i bloody hate this village

dont sell it sam, it looks like you are doing the kind of job i wish i was capable of it will be worth it in the end :)

Mark

well the replacement tyres for it will set me back £357.30 the ones they destroyed were basically new as they still had the molding flecks on them

i dont want to sell it but if it isnt safe outside my garage anymore then it'll be difficult to work on

i'll get some pics at some point, the rust isnt very bad i was just going to put some stuff on it to stop it rusting any further then replace the bits when i get a welder and a compressor

Right then not updated for a while, been looking for a seal rebuild kit for the Bosch ve pump but i'm not having any luck :( anyone know where i can get one from? as i'd rather just replace the seal then have to replace the pump

thanks for that, i'm awaiting a reply from them.

i havent got front fogs on this disco does anyone know if the wireing will be there for them? as i want to run the top lights through the frong fog switch and it's gonna be easier to tap into the origional wires then it will be to do it from scratch

Also how difficult is it to get the rear bumper off?

Gave it a clean today and cut the front bumper off so it can be cleaned up and powder coated :)

Sorry about the amout of pictures i do enjoy taking them :)

i've had a quick look and all i can see is 2 bolts on either corner of the bumper can't see much in the midle as there is a towbar and a what looks like a skid plate in the way
had another look for the bit of the loom that goes to the front fog switch and i still can't find it :( looks like i'm going to have to wire it in from scratch
