Stop tapping your right foot to the music? :p

Does it smoke much? ............. thinking maybe pump timing???? ........ when did you last change all the engine filters (oil, air, fuel) etc?

Get under ya landy and just infront of the fuel tank bolted to the chassis is a sedimentor which traps all the poop n bits. 11mm spaner (I think) onto the top of the unit against the boot floor will undo the one bolt that secures it. Be prepared for a face full of diesel if you dont support the pot as you undo it. Did mine a couple of days ago and aside from all the little black floaty bits there was somthing I can only describe as Slimer out of ghost busters. Tiped it into a bowl and it looked like a jelly fish out of water. Then change your fuel filter. Thats all the cheep bits done 1)Sedimentor £0.00 and lots of swaring getting it off 2)fuel filter (Got mine from Pads with air and oil filter £7.50 for all three together. Failing that then you should do what Sean and co. said.... lift pump etc.

Ive tried the cheap filters from paddocks and they seem ok, but someone recomended a genuine Land rover air filter as they are better.I didn,t think there could be much difference but I tried one anyway. When I tested the two filters by sucking air through them ,air did seem to pass through the genuine part a lot easier .I think Ill stick to Landrover air filters even if they are three times more to buy

If you do manage to get the sedimenter off let me know and i'll bring my fooker up to ya.

My kangarooing was due to a blocked deisel/fuel filter by the way.

Still not got your sedimentor off then Veggie? I found the best way was to do it while you have the boot floor out to replace it:D It will get done again when the boot floor needs replacing again. I'm was half thinking about cutting an access hole above it and caping it off like the one over the sender unit and pipes but then I thought, nope cos its a nice new boot floor so thats a propper poop idea...

DOES IT UNSCREW BY ROTATING THE BOWL OR IS IT A SPANNER ON THE TOP ON A 300 TDI???

You undo the bolt on top of the unit, then I believe the bowl should just pull off. Once you've got this off, cleaned it and put it back, change the fuel filter and the air filter and I'll bet she feels like a new car !!

Cheers

Yep. Big Lads right there. You have to undo the bolt from the top other wise you will be trying to undo a metal catch bowl thats firmly pressed against a rubber seal which would (I would imagin) be near on imposible. Try getting ya spanner on it veggie but make sure ya face aint directly under it when undoing unless ya want to go blind from mud, dust, grit and then about a coke can full of diesel with a jelly fish in it in ya eyes.

In another fred i explained about the success of the sedimenter removal.

Just returnd home from Wales.

Very very smooth after sedimenter and deisel filter replacement.
Also three quarters of a tank left and did 290 miles kin great mileage as well.

THANK YOU EVERYBOBEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
