Looking at easy fixes; it might be worth checking the small wire on the starter motor is connected properly. It's called the Lucar connector in Rave, brown lead with a red trace.

I've got it started!!!! it was the small cable attached the the starter. it was broken in the engine compartment so foxed and turned it over! all running now but still have the 3 amigos and the srs light so time for diagnostics tomorrow. i do have a snap on ethos scanner will that scan the landrover?
thanks for all your help guys i wouldn't have known where to start without your help

Nice Job.

Not sure about the diagnostics though , sorry, I use nanocom.

So apart from the 3 amigos , does it drive OK?

Cheers

Good to hear it was a nice easy fix, not having 12V getting to the starter solenoid is always going to be an issue. LOL.

Hope the drive goes well.

Cheers

That's good to know.
As far as the 3 amigos go, if that's all you have in the way of diagnostics, then give it a try.
The two usual faults which can throw up the 3 amigos are either a fault with one of the hubs/speed sensors driving the ABS or the shuttle valve switches underneath the ABS modulator. If your code reader throws up sensible readings, then first clear all the fault codes including the historical codes then go for a drive to see what happens. If you get the lights come on again, that's the time to read them properly and act on the result.
Keep us posted.

Ok so it's driving, not to bad and my scanner diagnosed a wheel sensor fault and shuttle valve problem so cleared the codes and no lights back up. Now I do have a few problems. I'm getting a smell of clutch when driving. Could this be due to needing to bleed the clutch further? Also driving today and the alarm sounder starting going off while the engine was running and driving fine? Where is the alarm sounder located...It sounds like it's in the boot somewhere? Any help would be great...Thanks again guys!

The alarm , was the BBUs. A back up alarm sounder, and yes it is in the boot area. Not sure why , as long as the alarm is switched off it should be off.
Iirc, Drivers side behind a vanity panel.
Can your scanner turn off the alarm , internal sensors and immobiliser functions in the car? may help identify the cause.

SRS , could be the connections under the seat. Does your diagnostics not identify the issue?

Cheers

My scanner is only a base model snap on one so I'm not getting to much info on it. I have no access to the alarm so I was thinking of disconnecting the alarm but had a look and cannot see anything. Is there an exact location so I don't pull the whole of the back of the car apart? Il have a hunt around under the seats for the plugs as ive had that on another car, any other connections I need to have a play with? Thanks again

If you have the workshop manual it describes all the ways the alarm can go off.

May be worth going thru them step by step.

Also, if you set the alarm off, does the normal horn / alarm horn and the BBUs all sound? if it is only the bbus then the others are switched off for the alarm.

Cheers

I have downloaded the workshop manual but it's on a mac and it's making no sense most of it is blank pages...anyone using a mac for this? What program are you using to view it?

Iirc the download of RAVE is a .iso file. that file type needs to be "unpacked" to a CD (either a CD disc or a "virtual CD").
The .pdf viewer is embedded in the RAVE download and this might be a problem.
There is a forum section for electronical, iterweb and program problems, but it might be worth posting this problem on "Anything Goes" or "General Land Rover Forum" where it might get a few more views and replies.

Hi guys I'm back again. So I've had a good drive today and most things have sorted them self's out. But I still have a few niggles. The first being the srs light my scanner shows the fault pictured, is that the airbag itself. Also I had a messege saying the egr value was stuck open? Thanks joe
