i think ive done somthing silly i have purchased disco 300dti auto
must say she has a nice body though not sure about her underside
trouble is she won't play the game and start up just stands there and turns over if any one could help me put a smile on her face i would be most gratful   :(

a 300 should start at the flick of the switch with no glow plugs...

suspect no fuel getting to the engine, either a dodgy fuel cut off soleniod or airlocked fuel/lack of fuel

Change/bleed the fuel filter would be a good start along with testing the cut off soleniod

Dunno, mine has always taken a couple of rotations before starting ... but it does that when warm, hot, cold, wet through, stood for three weeks, whatever, so never thought anything of it ... ;)

Gotta agree, thobut, it's likely to be what you say, but I'd also change fuel filter as a matter of course. Indeed, first thing I did, despite getting a FSH with mine (55k on clock in 2003) was a full service of all filters, fluids, oils, pads etc etc

Doesn't the Auto have a safety feature thats stops the engine from kicking over if it's not in Neutral? Never used one so just throwing ideas in.

it should only turn over when in PARK i would check that the fuel is reaching the injectors and work back from there before i do anything else as i had a fuel lift pump problem before. get someone to turn the engine over and loosen off injectors at engine then tighten back up if the fuel is present.
