Hi everyone, just want to say what a way of life this one life live it is,,
For the last year or so I've been putting all my time and cash into my disco 1 300, all mechs done, now starting on the interior, I've gone the whole hog and booked a guy to come and redo the sunroofs professionally, not taking anymore risks with silicone, tape, tightening handles down and removing knobs scenario anymore, what a nightmare, I have read a few posts from some knowledgable guys regarding the roof lining job, but I'm sorry with me back and clumsy hands I know I will just make a right S*** job of it, does anybody know around the Yorkshire area who can reline it for me,
I'd appreciate any advice or contacts, thanks, enjoy billing.

Well, I saw a headlining yesterday in a mates disco and it was stunning really no crap, he's painted it, he took the heading out and sanded it down with a med/course sanding block to get a flock like finish, he then bought some Johnstones water based acrylic silk paint, the stuffs great, quick drying, low odour but more important you can wipe it clean, around 25 quid all in, it looks bloody brill, so this is my way to go, oh and he got it mixed to suit is trims.

Hello, Please can one of you kind gentlemen or ladies who have in their possession a Disco 1 please have a look under the rear sunroof handle and see if there is suppose to be a screw holding the headlining up. in mine there is a hole in the headlining but nothing there, not sure if its been in and forgotten to be put back, the lining is hanging freely there doesn't seem to be a hole above the lining to put one back in, what I'm hoping you can tell me is it a push clip or a screw, and does it need a retaining clip fitting.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Have a look at this, it doesn't show the rear sunroof, but the front and rear are the same:

Could be some has poked a hole in it !!!
Just take care and take your time when removing it - have you had a peer down the gap where the sunroof trim goes, that pulls off really easy >

To be honest, I've just done a reccy on it, I've got all the gear sorted so going to Billing tomorrow pick a few more brains from some mates, the I'm have a professional job done on the sun roofs Wednesday, when its out I wil be lining the roof with some 3mm weather resistant foam, get it all painted up all the trims cleaned with sugar soap, the stuff is amazing if left to soak for 15 mins,
Then get it all out back together, there's defo a hole under the handle so I'm guessing it had a screw but been missed,
Thanks again

for what its worth, my roof liner was trashed due to the leaking sunroofs. i stripped the rotten foam from it and then i was left with a smooth cardboard like surface. i got myself some camo hide material from ebay and stuck it on. you have to cut it to get it to go round the bends but because its camo you cant see!

i think it looks ok, stands me at £10
