Hi All I will be (well my mechanic really) doing the 200TDi in to a 90 thing shortly and have come across some really helpful threads recommending various ways of going about it one that caught my eye was to use the Disco engine And Gearbox rather than a mish mash of the two it all sounded a lot easier and parts would be cheaper as you could use pretty much standard disco bits ie not having new down pipes made etc can anyone thats done both shed any light on which is best?:D

If you do a search it has been covered a million times, a disco 200/300 tdi needs a modified exhaust unless you use defender one (modified downpipe available)

and the gearboxes on a disco mean the seat box will want altering or a defender box
search 200tdi conversion

Thanks Fanatic yes got that earlier and realise this but surely its got to be easier to cut and shut an exhaust and cut a hole in a seat box rather than getting adapted pipes here and there and at the end of the day having an old gearbox rather than a much newer one :)
