been offered a 300tdi disco very cheap, its only got 60k on clock but rotten as hell as owner lived on coast.

my 200tdi 110s engine is very high milage and smoking.
i know can put mechanicals in it but not sure of positioning for mounts.
can i get them in right place by measuring from front x-member on both?
also i know it will put gear levers further back whats best way to do it?
will i need to cut seat box?
also am i better sticking with 110 hand brake or fitting disco one?

google for pics or ask someone on here thats done the conversion

will need to mod tunnel if is long bellhousing I think as well as cut into seatbox, check pdudes thread

think turbo will also need to be accounted for
 
200 is the better engine, just get another 200, you may find you only need a turbo or something. The 300's have a habit of overheating and damaging the head, the 200's are alot stronger...

The 300 is a bit more refined granted but after having both I would say a 200 is defintley better, Mine will sit and run all day and the temp gauge wont move, 300's have a habit of getting warm and popping heads, I done my HG on my 300 a few times...

Neither however compare to the reliability of the V8's :rolleyes::p:D
