Disco diesel

Hi just started a discovery 1 project an thinking about getting it road legal it's not got much wrong with it an has low miles it has been declared off road for some time the only problem is that it has been running on diesel. Does anyone know how I go about registering the vechicle that has run on red ? Thanks

just apply to tax vehicle ,run derv through and change filter its not illegal to use red diesel ,just avoiding road duty which is on derv ,you can allways take a note of mileage of when putting on road or use mot and keep fuel reciepts till you know system is clear,so you can prove you paid duty

I would be calling HMRC / VoSA for advice. Better to get it sorted now rather than trying to stop them seizing your motor if you get dipped

keep a note of when you bought it the mileage and date when its motd and taxed and all your diesel receipts then youll be able to show that youve used a reasonably correct amount of taxed fuel for the miles covered since you bought it..
unless your unlucky enough to be using a route that vosa are active on the chances of being stopped and dipped are quite small , ive been driving diesels since the late eighties and not run into them yet.
