disco axle on defender

will axle banjo and diff off a disco one fit a 110. i need to replace front axle casing on my 98 110. i have a axle off a 96 disco auto. if i unbolt at the swivels and swap ends to retain the 110 brakes will this work.or are there differences in the casing/diff. i keep looking and cant see why not or have i missed something silly.dont want to start then find out at the last minute i was wrong.thanks

Should be ok on the front. Rear axle on a 110 is totally different.
