My 95 300tdi Disco emits a beeping noise at 74mph and above. Its
obviously some kind of speed warning device, but I've never come
across anything like it before. The handbook does not mention it.
Any ideas what and where it may be. Its damned annoying and coming out
if I can find it.

I've not got the V5 back yet so I won't know if its an import, but I
don't remember seeing anything like that on the document check.
I know one of the former owners and he says that there is a rumour
that the vehicle was initially on the Sandringham fleet.

<snip>

I've seen this on a disco belonging to a friend of mine, it was a little
black box located behind the lower trim panel on the drivers side, near the
fuse box if memory serves me right. He mumbled something at the time about
foreign spec....
I removed the box, dismantled it, and removed the beeper/buzzer unit! There
was another reason why the unit had to remain intact and connected,
something to do with the immobiliser maybe? Sorry, I can't remember more
than that.
