Hello all,
I am about to start the great adventure of replacing my Disco rear boot floor, and while I was stripping the rear end I noticed most of the water was on the left hadn side which coincidently is right below where there is an area of rust damage to the left area corner gutter area. There is also a crack going up into the alpine window rubber.
I see there is a lot of info on the floor replacement, but I can't see any info on sorting these gutter issues.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hiya Jay, just had a look at your pictures and to be honest I don't think the boot flloor looks that bad.

Yes off course it needs replacing but to be honest the floor that fell out of my wife's TDi 200 was significantly worse that that.

The wheel arches look servicable as do the side panels, for the most part.

When I did mine I got all the replacement parts from Paddocks, the floor panel, the three crossmembers. It came to about £100 in parts, plus paint, mastic and loads of rivets.

Re the seat belt anchorage, the floor is NOT the anchor point it's just a locating tidy point. The bracket is actually throu-bolted the chassis. When the fixings on mine wouldn't come undone I cut around the old floor and through the away so that I could get to the underneath of the floor bracket.

I then took my trusty angle-grinder and ground through the nut underneath the floor panel so that I could remove the bracket from the bit of old floor.

Be very careful not to cut through the long fastening that goes to the chassis as I've been told ?????? that these are no longer available.

Hi Jay, I've not seen a gutter go like yours, before.

Assuming you can get the metal side of things dealt with, to ensure it doesn't happen again I would be getting some sikflex auto mastic and using it in the gutter and just underneath in the crease, as well.

I cut my bolts off too - I got one of the mounts retapped with a larger metric thread, the other one I used an old Range Rover seat belt mount bolt I had lying around.
 
Thanks a lot peoples, nice tips all. I often wonder how LR managed to make one of the best 4x4 drivtrains in the world and then construct such effective rust factories.
That sound deadening mat under the rear carpet is a classic case.
