I bought my 90 with a disco engine in but there isn't an air filter fitted

It's just a length of pipe that nestles behind the N/S headlight

I can't see anywhere to put a filter as it has a LT77 fitted so the engine is right against the bulkhead

I did fit a K&N cone filter I had laying about but it ran like a pig as it restricted the air too much as it was probably too small, it runs much better without it on but I'm worried about it sucking a dog in or something

Plus it's not exactly going to be watertight behind the headlight

Any suggestions

I would be worried about sucking in dirt and dust without a filter so I would get something sorted out as soon as you can. If you have fitted the 300Tdi right back there there is plenty of space in front of the engine to fit something.

This is a picture of a standard old style vertical air filter like what was fitted to mine before I changed the engine and gearbox. This might be a good idea?

I wanted to fit an air filter in the wing above the N/S headlight as there seems to be a massive amount of space in there. But it's probably not as easy as it sounds.
