Hi
,
New to the forums not that mechanically minded. just changed out front discs and fitted new brake pads, followed Haynes manual. The brakes are not as firm now as they were, is there anything I may have over looked?

you've probably still got some air in the brake fluid. try bleeding them again.
also, new discs and pads take a little while to wear / bed in.

no... normally brakes need to bed in.
however, you may want to bleed them as well with a total loss method, to flush through some new fluid .

Thanks guys will get on to it. Will bleed them then gentle bedding in.

DO NOT BED THEM IN GENTLY !!!!!

This is a mistake I made and found that they didn't bed in at all.

I got advise from another forum, to do a series of 60mph to 30mph hard braking sessions, after which my brakes were superb.

Cheers
Dave

The joys, having changed the front went to back to start bleeding, found one missing brake pad so that's tomorrow morning taken care of.
