Disco 300tdi, 1997, c-post outer trim

Hi folks,

1997, 300tdi Disco, 5-door. If this has been covered I apologise but I didn't find it. We need to remove the plastic trim (finisher) on the outside of the C-post to get at corrosion. On other sites I've seen one guy say prise them off and another say remove the inner trim and unbolt them! At their age they may be brittle, can someone give me a clue so that I don't break them in removing them please?

I've searched for the part-number for them too without success, can anyone help with a number?

You need to remove the inner trim and unbolt them. Part No DDG100300.

In case anyone finds my question here is the answer.

First, it seems the pillar behind the rear side door (where it latches) is not the C-post as I called it but the D-post. In Land Rover catalogues the pillar where the front door has its catch and the rear-side door has its hinge is the BC post.

The part number for the part is DDG100300 for the RHS and DDG100310 for the LHS. The part numbers are listed as obsolete but a search on these numbers brings up equivalents at the usual online sources.

Somehow your reply arrived after I had posted my own even though you sent it earlier, time warp at the Scottish border obviously.

Thanks for your reply, that'll be a bit of fun for a wet afternoon then. The corrosion is spreading beneath the trim so it'll have to come off.
