My Mrs' 300tdi Disco has pulled off really slow since we have had it from cold. So much so that as we live on a slight bank 10 mph was as fast as it went for say 100yrds before it started to go how we imagined it would. It has been like this for a while so she has got used to it. But, we went out today and there was that much black smoke coming out of the back that the following cars put on their headlight :D:D I joke you not :D at thios point the car was going very slow and didn't have any power at all, but as soon as the revs got to say 2500 which was after a couple of minutes having my foot to the floor you could here the turbo whistling and the car would take off until the next stop or slow down when it all happened yet again.
Does this sound like the EGR Guys? I believe i can remove it and blank it off but what happens about the wire that connects to the EGR? does it no throw up a code? or do you need to leave the egr valve under the bonnet somewhere plugged in to trick the ecu?
Thanks
Daz :)

check for splits in you inter cooler pipes an as for the wire for your egr just tuck it out the way its ok you don't need it an it will do nothink to your landy

A collapsed air filter, a split or collapsing intercooler hose (with one
collapsing internally the most likely), or possibly a blocked intercooler

Thanks Guys will check all you have suggested.
I only fitted a new Air Filter etc last week so I will check the intercooler hose first, blank off the egr then see what happens..
Cheers

Well removed and blanked off the Egr valve the car is different again.
I will buy the 90 degree turbo pipe next so we don't have anymore problems. :D

Thanks to everyone who replied.
Cheers
Daz. :)
