Disco 3 tailgate release

Hi, just bought a Disco 3 on an 05 plate.
Really happy with it, however I seem to have an issue with the tailgate.
Sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn’t.
I can hear power to the touchpad, and I can hear a ‘click’ from the lock when I press the fob unlock, but sometimes it just won’t open.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

this is a really simple fix - mine went 3 weeks ago - go to ebay and type in discovery 3 rear boot latch and for £25 you can buy the complete latch - you simply unscrew the old one - and install the new latch - be careful when cutting the old wires which attach to the boot latch as landrover don't give you a good length of wire to work with - but I am someone who is not mechanically minded but I watched a you tube video and it was really simple and you get a huge level of satisfaction having done it and mine mow works perfectly.....spencer

I’m just looking at them. Is there an issue with them being coded to pair with the key fobs ?
