hi guys

can someone tell methe difference between the 4.4 SE version and 4.4 HSE version as far as the 4x4 lock differential is concenred ?
thank you in advance

^^^^ LOL

beside this . i am looking for a used disco 3 of 2005 and i have found one in good condition but is SE :(

is it worth it ? or should i only be looking into an HSE ?

the one i am looking into is a 2005 European version SE. but i am looking in the official Greek website as far as the extras and the standad equipment and it sais that in the SE version the electronically rear defferential is not controlable. so my question is as far as the rear differential is concerned and what the difference is in the HSE

No differenced to differentials at all. Some have an E-diff on the back axle as well as the centre, but that is an option and not spec dependent.
If you are looking second hand the specs on things like rear climate control fluctuated each year, so you need to look at what is actually on the vehicles.

can you be a little more specific? i am totally new in the land rover scheme. all i know is what i have seen in the oficial website.

what more can the e-diff you are mentioning provide, which i think is what i am actually asking.? what is its use ? and what does it do exactly. they dont mention it anywhere.

also what do you mean to see what is on the car actually? how can i find out ? this is an early 2005 european SE 4.4 V8 version.

E-diff is the Electronically controlled variable limited slip differential which is installed as standard for the centre differential, but is an option on the rear. You need to be doing very severe off roading for it to be needed, bur without it you may find TC coming on a bit more.
If you're buying second hand, ask, if you're buying new you'll know because it's a £500 option!

so it is an option regardless of the version. now i see. so there is no reason in choosing between an Se and an HSE version as far as the e-diff is concerned. it isjust a matter of more convenience or looks the difference among the two versions.
