Disco 3 Engine management light come on and slows car down

and goes off again....or so the wife tells it, It has never done this with me driving but she say she will be driving along and all power will be lost and the car slows to a stop she then starts the car up and fault is cleared and off she goes. happened twice now ...any ideas what is wrong? just about to stick another years warrenty on the brute

it could be like mine head gone is it overheating or showing overheating on dash

got more of teh storey from the wife as it happened again yestersday...she drives along and it drops power for a few seconds then power kicks in again. The engine management alarm is dispalyed. She said it looks as if the software or in her words 'something' has rebooted

You really need to get the fault code read. A lot of modern engines have a "limp home" mode where virtually all power is cut when certain faults are detected. A D3 Hawkeye or similar would tell you, or if still under warranty as you imply ge the dealer to sort it for you!

Fookin' scary when it happens ton up in lane 3 though!!!
