Hey guys will the standard 200 300 disco bumper be strong enough for towing if I drill to attach the towhitch ball onto the bumper or will I have to strengthen it?? I plan to to use a bar circlar steel pole for towing safer and easier then ropes. any ideas?? it is landy disco towing another disco. cheers.:D

Do a google search for Watling towbars. They have a full range of front towbars mail order and should have one for the 200. They're about 150 quid for the kit.

Cheers

Andy

there are a few tow bar kits new and second hand on --ay

i know some one that did that and wished they hadn't, luckly enough never got to the road only on private ground.

recomend the right kit they are cheap enough, and pennies second hand,
ive used the a frames for towing other cars/4x4 they are worth the money too better than a solid bar too.

Markw I didn't realised that they had a frame for 4x4 ?? had to be three tonne? if they did I will deffo buy an a frame know where it is available?

taffy i have used acouple of different types,

one the a frame connected via a chain/strap sysyem to axle/anti roll bar

the other type was just like ruber upers that rested against the front of the car/ 4x4. this type i towed my series landrovers connected to chassis by where the front bumper bolted on.

all i could say about finding one is look on --ay/ bargin pages or even put a wanted out there, they are about some where
