Disco 2. Starts great, 1/2 a turn, idles great, just won't rev past 3k for the first minute or so. It's like there is a blockage of sorts, if you keep your foot on accelerator, eventually it seems to clear it and it's fine until you turn it off again and restart it whereby the same thing happens.

New harness
Injector seals done
New maf
No oil in ecu plug
New fuel pump
Egr blanked
No fault codes coming up.

Has anyone any ideas??? Also it seems a little gutless driving, not too bad, just slightly.

are you starting it using the gas pedal,or just on the key and no gas?

when you replaced the injector seals did you put back the injectors in the same order? ...cos that 3000 rpm thing is specific for uncoded injectors

The problem was present prior to doing the injector seals, there was the symptomatic gurgling noises as well so hoped they were all linked. Unfortunately not.

Do you think it could be injector related? There are no codes thrown up on a snap on soulus.

i mean that the injectors must be "coded" to the ECM, they have those 5 letter codes on the solenoids which must be stored in the ECM memory otherwise the engine will not run well especially not over 3000rpm...maybe they were not coded when you bought it cos you won't be the first, you must read the codes from the injector solenoids, write them down then connect a dedicated tester and read what's stored in the ECM for them and if they dont match save the codes as they are, see the attachment's last paragraph above "Input/Output", that statement is valid for the cases when you swap injectors too not just changing the ECM, that's why i asked if you put them back in the same order cos the order must match too with each code... so if you dont know that for sure that would be the first to investigate..it's possible that the snap-on solus to be able to do that but if not nanocom or hawkeye can no need for dealer's Testbook T4 tool

If the injectors are not coded correctly could this be the problem?
It is only on startup, be it hot or cold. You need to put your foot to the floor and eventually after a bit of lumpiness it seems to clear a blockage and then it's fine again until you stop it.

If this is the correct symptom, let me know and I will get it booked in.

Thanks

Just to throw something out there - why on earth would you want to rev above 3k within a minute of startup anyway? Makes me think 'no wonder it's not working properly'

Feel free to correct/hurl abuse at me if I'm wrong

I must admit that was my thought as well. I've always believed in letting engines warm up properly before giving them any stick.
